Tips to improve your blog in 2008

Okay, i know there is nothing new about this topic here. It has been said again and again. But now, if you intend to earn a decent income from your blog then you really need to improve the overall quality of your blog.

So here we go:

1. Start providing useful and original content to your audience. The best way to do this is to write something that your are interested in and have not been said before. Even a good writer won’t be able to produce a good article if you ask him to write something that he does not like.
2. Forget about link exchange. Try to get links from some reputable blog. Linking to reputable blogs will help in your blog visibility.
3. Get connected through the social networking sites. There’s a lot of it out there, these are sites like blogcatalog, digg, delicious, etc.
4. If you’ve been stucked to your same design for years and you are bored to see it. Maybe it’s time to change it. If you are bored of the free themes, then get a professional to do it for you. But then again, make sure the design is practical for your theme.
5. Do not put too much ads to your site unless you have a good site with huge amount of unique visitors. Too much ads will scare your readers.
6. Provide your readers choices in their RSS aggregator. Don’t stick to one.
7. Always interact and acknowledged your readers. Blogging is a two-way communication.
8. Finally, have fun writing what you write.
